Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH)1 was commanded by His Lord one day
To leave his wife Hajar (RA)2 with baby Ismaeel (PBUH) in Mecca and walk away
No water, no food, no soul in sight, no place to hide
An empty space between two mountains, dry and wide
A baby crying, a mother running, her tongue moist in prayer
Between Safa and Marwah, searching for water everywhere
By Allah’s will, Zamzam gushed beneath the baby’s feet there
An endless stream of water flowing till the end of time, a sacred sign
Desperate footsteps now a ritual we all share
Echoed in prayer, performing Sa’i at Hajj with care
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
Allah called Ibrahim (PBUH) once again, to build His House with care
Father and son raised the Kaabah together, stone by stone laid bare
When it was complete, they raised their hands to the All-Hearing in prayer
“Our Lord accept from us,” their voices lifted in the air
Then Allah commanded Ibrahim (PBUH) “And proclaim to mankind the Hajj”3, to worship Him alone
The qiblah of our worship, praising the Lord upon His Throne
Where all stand equal, a cornerstone of unity
Millions gather, young and old from every community
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
Now wrapped in black and gold so bright
Guiding every pilgrim toward Allah’s eternal light
We stand as one direction, one purpose clear
As if the House itself whispers, “Your Lord is always near”
We circle around the Kaabah with devotion and sincere emotion
Like planets around their sun in a peaceful motion
We walk between two mountains, where a mother once ran fast
Remembering her trust in God, a story meant to last
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
Ismaeel (PBUH) grew stronger by his father’s side
Learning patience, strength, and a faith that would soon be tried
Then came a dream too heavy for a father’s heart to bear and do
“O my son, I see in a dream that I must sacrifice you”4
And Ismaeel (PBUH) replied in submission, surrendered fully to the decree laid bare
“O my dear father! Do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me patient there”5
When they both submitted putting their trust in Al-Hakeem, with hearts sincere in prayer
“You have already fulfilled the vision”6 was the answer there
Then a ram was sent as mercy from Ar-Rahman
“And we ransomed his son with a great sacrifice”7, truly by Allah’s perfect plan
And till this day, millions travel thousands of miles to arrive
After the day of Arafah, on Eid ul Adha, the sacrifice comes alive
It’s not only about sacrificing an animal
It’s about leaving behind desires, the pride within us all
It’s about letting go of habits that lead us astray
And choosing to please Allah, every single day
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
But time would cover the truth that echoed everywhere
Idols entered the House, few remembered what was there
Until Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) restored Ibrahim’s prayer
And Tawheed returned—back to its core once more
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
We stand upon Arafah, beneath the open sky
Where the Prophet’s (PBUH) final sermon reminded us of our purpose high
To purify our souls, to connect with our Creator
To understand His Book, and live by His words for a destination greater
No race above another, the Prophet (PBUH) did testify
Calling us to justice, mercy, and truth that cannot die
We throw stones at Shaytan, rejecting his whispered call
We sacrifice in gratitude, as Ibrahim once stood tall
Knowing Allah sees our hearts, and knows our every deed
And when the journey ends, our souls feel new indeed
Hajj is returning to Allah, and finding yourself freed
So do not delay—return to Him, for He is all you need
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, hearts raised in prayer
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am”, souls in Your care
1 Peace be upon him
2 May Allah (SWT) be pleased with her
